Hennessey’s New 650-HP Supercharger Kit for GM Trucks

More horsepower — 55 percent more to be exact — it’s as easy as this! Hennessey’s new “Goliath 650” package aims at giving Chevy and GMC pickup trucks more oomph! That extra horsepower, which is noteworthy to say the least, is thanks to a new supercharger kit that works perfectly on all standard 6.2-liter (L87 EcoTech3) GM V8 engines offered in the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra.

Out of the gate, the Silverado and Sierra, both V8-powered trucks, make 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to Hennessey’s kit, though, that increases to 650 hp and 658 lb-ft.

The kit includes a bunch! There is a 3.0-liter supercharger that is accompanied by a high-flow intake, high-flow intercooler, a crankcase ventilation system and chromoly pushrods. With the Hennessey’s engine software calibration, all works perfectly and harmoniously to pump out the nearly Corvette Z06 levels of power in these full-size trucks. Hennessey has also installed a stainless steel cat-back exhaust that retains the original tips. That change takes the truck to 650 horses and 658 lb-ft of torque.

For those who own the Sierra AT4, the off-road version of the GMC pickup, there is also a Goliath Off-Road package which comes equipped with a new steel front bumper, an LED light bar, off-road suspension and much more! There are also 20-inch wheels and 35-inch off-road tires. It is just with the Sierra that this Goliath package is available, not for the Silverado package. Instead, the normal Goliath 650 kit is offered on all 6.2-liter V8 Silverado and Sierra models.

While pricing is not yet revealed, nor is the exact availability of the kit, it is common knowledge that all of these upgrades handily come with a three-year, 36,000 mile warranty. To take advantage of these Goliath kits, customers need to send their existing trucks to or order the trucks with the kit from either authorized Chevy or GMC dealers. This upgrade, although the cost yet is unknown, is truly a positive and a clear enhancement for many GM truck owners. In essence, through this kit, drivers can upgrade to a performance version of their truck without having to trade it in for a new one. They will have, ultimately, a LT4 upgrade in a box!
