Super truck = super far!

The news is exciting! GMC will truly take you where you need to go — and then some! The automaker has announced this week that the driving range for the 2024 GMC Hummer EV 3X Pickup has been extended! Now, the range on a full charge will be a whopping 381 miles with the available 24-module battery (a 26-mile increase over the 2023 model year) and 359 miles of range on a full charge for models equipped with the available Extreme Off-Road Package that boasts the available 24-module battery pack. This represents a 30-mile increase over the previous model year.

This means that for extended road trips, where drivers and passengers alike enjoy overloading in remote areas, or for a typical daily drive, the Pickup will provide both greater range and confidence.

“As we expand the limits on our all-electric future, we’re excited to continue improving the range and to take the GMC HUMMER EV farther than ever for our customers and their adventures,” Al Oppenheiser, chief engineer of GMC HUMMER EV, said.

Configured for on-road driving dynamics, the EV 3X Pickup, priced starting at $106,945, is extremely sporty, while the available Extreme Off-Road Package serves to boost the vehicle’s off-road know how, even on the toughest types of trails. It features underbody armor, locking front and rear differentials, five skid plates and rocker protection with built-in steps. Two underbody shields are also used to cover the truck’s drive units.

Other standard features on the 3X Pickup trim include: 22-inch wheels and 35-inch All-Terrain tires; 4-Wheel Steer with Crabwalk diagonal drive capability; Air Ride Adaptive Suspension; Extract Mode and the Watts to Freedom launch experience. That means the vehicle jumps from 0-60 mph in about 3.5 seconds with the standard 20-module battery in place and 0-60 mph in about 3 seconds with the available 24-module battery.

Other features include the Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance applicable to more than 400,000 miles of compatible roads in the United States and Canada and up to 381 miles of GM-estimated driving range on a full charge with the available 24-module battery back.

With the recommended Extreme Off-Road Package on the 3X trims, more features include 18-inch wheels and 35-inch Mud-Terrain tires; four additional underbody camera views for 18 total camera views; Front e-locker and rear virtual locking differentials; heavy-duty ball-spline half shafts; underbody armor consisting of five skid plates and rocker protection with built-in assist steps as well as two underbody shields to protect battery and drive units. This trim also provides the expanded 359 miles of GM-estimated driving range on a full charge with the available 24-module battery pack.

Production of the Hummer EV Pickup will soon begin — later this year to be exact — and take place at GM’s Factory ZERO Assembly Center in Detroit and Hamtramck, Mich., which is home to GMC’s three all-electric trucks. Those include the Hummer EV Pickup, the Hummer EV SUV and the upcoming Sierra EV.

Planned to go on sale this fall, the 2024 Hummer EV pickup is truly a super truck — and now it can go super far! This expanded range will perfectly suit those long road trips, overloading in remote areas or daily driving.
