Get ready for this tough powerhouse, starting at $70,000 and boasting fast-charging capabilities along with quick acceleration and practical design. Mechanically similar to the Chevy Silverado EV, the Denali by GMC adds luxe materials and an upscale appearance to the mix. See what this electric truck has in store!

Here’s more…

What we know!

Overall, the GMC Denali leans into luxury, beginning with the nicest and quietest cabin, complete with top-end materials, as well as stunning design cues. Similar to other top-trim Ultium trucks, the Denali boasts rear-wheel steering that significantly tightens up its turning radius and improves high-speed stability. It borrows the CrabWalk feature from the Hummer EV and rides on the same adaptive air springs that the electric Hummer and Silverado features.

It summons an impressive 754 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque, and is certainly dramatic on the open road. It claims a 4.5-second zero-to-60 mph-time and is an overall large vehicle, big in every sense.

In fact, thanks to the Denali trim, the only variant available for a brief 2024 model year, high-level is in tall order! That is because buyers now get the option of remote automatic parking and an upgrade to a 5G connection, as well as exciting new paint colors including Dark Ember Tintcoat, Deep Ocean Metallic, Summit White, Onyx Black and Moonlight Matte.

The electric Denali features a one-pedal driving mode, with High, Normal and Off settings, plus a paddle behind the steering wheel’s left spoke that allows drivers to effect stops no-footed, operating progressively, similar to a trailer-brake-controller gain slider.

Luxurious in the offering of Super Cruise, the Denali can handle lane changes automatically when it sees an opening or when prompted by a flick of the turn-signal stalk.

This fancy EV features a 205.0-kWh battery that has an estimated range of 440 miles, similar to the top Chevy. The Edition 1 also features DC public fast-charging of 100 miles in about 10 minutes, as well as the convenience of home charging with various Level 2 charging options from GM Energy.

It arrives first with the fully loaded model, dubbed the Denali Edition 1, then a regular, nearly loaded Denali will be joined by Elevation and AT4 trims next year.

Redefined from grille to gate, on the exterior, it has a bluff front end, with sail panels that are upright. There is a reimagined grille and modern finishes, such as gloss-black accents, an illuminated perimeter shield, and illuminated GMC front badging and animated lighting while the pickup is charging.

An indoor/outdoor MultiPro MidGate is present as is the trick MultiPro Tailgate, and in concert, they open up a max of 10 feet, 10 inches of cargo length. A power open eTrunk features a lockable and weatherproof storage area in the front of the truck that offers additional secured storage when traveling, camping or even spending a day at the ocean.

The perimeter of the shield that takes the place of a grille and the GMC lettering within illuminate at night. Another striking animation occurs after unlocking the doors, where it cycles through all the various elements then lights up each letter in the logo in sequence.

Engineers did a great deal of work to keep outside noise out in the Edition 1 with acoustic glass, not offered on the Chevy. They also added sound-deadening material within the cabin. A panoramic Fixed Glass Roof is found within, as is smart styling rooted in luxury. Sounds throughout are courtesy of the Bose Premium 7-speaker audio system with richbass woofer.

In the area of handling, drivers can set the steering to Sport through the customizable My Mode, allowing for more aggressive rear steering. With the truck in Normal mode, its bigness and heft are obvious. Its max trailering capability is up to 10,000 pounds, with a special touch its 4-Wheel Steer with CrabWalk, which helps to improve the turning circle and maneuverability of the vehicle.

Technology-wise, the biggest differentiator between the Silverado and the Sierra EVs may be their screen setups. To that end, the 16.8-inch portrait center touchscreen is unique among electric GM trucks, with the Sierra’s screen “floating” in front of the horizontal dashboard and taking the tablet look so far that there’s a power button on the side of its enclosure. Plug and play by conveniently powering your gear no matter where you are, with the GMC Power Station Pro offering up to 10.2 kW of off–boarding power thanks to the available GM Accessories PowerBar.

Built to tower above everything, and surprisingly very fast, the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is poised to hit dealership lots. All things swanky – you bet! Reserve yours today!
