Here’s more…
What we know!
Under hood, the Yukon is presented with a choice of two gas-fed V-8s, and a diesel engine. Standard on the Elevation trim and the AT4 is a 355-hp 5.3-liter V8, while the upper–level Denali and Denali Ultimate have as standard a 420-hp 6.2-liter V-8, which is also available on the AT4.
Each model is compatible with the diesel 3.0-liter inline-six, which makes 305 horses and 495 pound-feet of torque. All of the Yukon models also have a 10-speed automatic transmission and either rear- or all-wheel drive.
In the 2025 model year, there are some changes that include the gearshift moving from buttons on the dashboard to a more user-friendly lever on the steering column. In addition, the off-road-oriented AT4 model features a two-speed transfer case, 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, underbody skid plates and an optional air suspension that is capable of providing up to two more inches of ground clearance. As with all AT4 models, there are red tow hooks, and a front skid plate that adds under-body protection. On these models, the GMC logo is matte red, while a satin nickel finish is used on the grille. The lower fascia remains gloss black, which makes the front end appear visually higher off the ground.
The first-ever AT4 Ultimate boasts 16-way power front seats with a massaging function, full-grain leather seating and a four-corner air ride adaptive suspension, while the fully loaded Denali Ultimate adds 24-inch machined aluminum wheels, Night Vision technology and heated and ventilated front seats.
Within, Obsidian Rush interior adds three rows of black full-grain leather with embossed textures, red stitching and Ash Burl wood accents.
A Denali model equipped with the 6.2-liter V-8, had the ability to jump from 0-60 mph in 6.0 seconds, with experts noting a significantly improved braking performance versus the previous-generation model. The Denalis also comes with 16-way powered heated and ventilated
massaging front seats. Its front end deviates from the more outdoorsy AT4, made clear by the width-enhancing design elements and grille detailing. The Denali features a gloss-black grille surround and a secondary insert in a tin-over-chrome color.
When it comes to towing, the Yukon excels! The rear-wheel-drive model with the 5.3-liter V-8 is rated for 8,400 pounds, while the 6.2-liter V8 comes in at 8,200. Those opting for the all-wheel-drive gets a drop in the tow ratings by 200 pounds, although there are numerous tech features that assist with trailering, including Transparent Trailer View that removes the physical trailer from the camera view, allowing drivers to just see stationary objects behind it. In addition, there is jackknife alert and Blind Zone Steering Assist.
In the area of fuel economy, rear-wheel-drive Yukons equipped with the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter V-8s are rated at 15 mpg city and 20 mpg highway. The four-wheel-drive models with the 5.3-liter V-8s are rated at 15 mpg and 19 mph on the highway. By comparison, the 4WD models equipped with the 6.2-liter V-8 are rated for 14 mpg city and 18 mpg highway.
Within the Yukon is ample seating for up to eight passengers, with those that order the popular second-row captain chairs, that number decreases to seven. In the higher-level Denali is open-pore wood trim with laser-etched topographical patterns and chrome accents. Add to that 16-way power-adjustable front seats with heated, ventilated and massaging cushions, and luxury is yours for the asking! The Yukon is also available with second-row executive seating that includes a luxury captain’s chair, and overall boasts generous cargo space, especially within the larger XL model.

Tech lovers will delight in that each and every Yukon has a vertically oriented 16.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system which features Google built-in software that provides access to numerous applications. There is also, in addition to a Wi-Fi hotspot, the ever-popular Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Passengers also revel in fancy second-row seats complete with speakers in the headrests, all part of the 22-speaker Bose sound system. There is also an available 8.0 inch touchscreen that allows second-row riders the ability to adjust climate settings. There is also a rear-seat entertainment system available.
Safety galore is to be had within the Yukon as a ghost of driver-assistance features are offered. Extra features, though, come at a cost, including night vision with thermal object detection for example, as well as GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving mode. More info about the Yukon’s crash-test results can be found by visiting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety websites. There are also such key features as standard automated emergency braking with forward-collision warning; available lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist and available adaptive cruise control with hands-free driving mode.
The warranty offered is competitive with others in the class, with the first maintenance visit free of charge. A limited warranty covers three years or 36,000 miles and a powertrain warranty covers five years or 60,000 miles.
From an all-new interior, trims, safety and tech, this full-size SUV is packed. More advanced, stylish and luxurious than before, with trims that give buyers a more robust base model, the Yukon has it all!
While pricing is not yet available for the 2025 Yukon, slight increases are predicted. This popular choice, though, is ideal for those seeking size, style and premium features. Complete with cosmetic updates, plenty of safety features and towing capacity, as well as roominess within and a diesel option, the Yukon for 2025 is your next best choice. Take a test drive and see how this large SUV is leading the charge!
