New and improved!
“All-new” is found here in the GMC Canyon for 2023, including an off-road trim boasting a slew of equipment as well as a completely revised interior. Improvements, which also include much-needed technology, only add to this midsize pick up truck’s overall appeal. See what this next-generation Canyon has to offer. Starting at $38,395 and with significantly more off-road ability, this new GMC model is all things capable and truly new and improved!
Here’s more….

A new trim!
For 2023, an AT4X trim is offered, making for a great addition to the line up! Thanks to this trim, off-roading just got that much more fun! Not only does this trim level unlock 10.7 inches of ground clearance due to a factory 3.0-inch lift and 33-inch tires, this makes the Canyon right in line and just as capable as the Chevy Colorado ZR2. An Edition 1 package includes extra cameras, bumpers, light bars, a winch, and 17-inch headlock capable wheels, all similar to the Colorado ZR2 and its Desert Boss off-road equipment package.
The AT4X will come standard with Chevy Silverado’s 310-hp turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four engine, which gives out 430 lb-ft of torque. This trim, expected to cost about $64,000, also features an all-new interior.

Engine specs!
While the complete offerings for the Canyon are not yet available, as a similar model to the Colorado, it is expected that the new model will use Chevy’s turbocharged 2.7-liter inline-four engine with various outputs depending on which trim level is chosen. All will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Also similar to the Colorado offerings, it is expected that the entry-level Canyon will include an engine that makes 237 hp and 259 lb-ft of torque, as well as a 301-hp version that makes 290 lb-ft of torque. This will result in more power than competitors in its class! In addition, it is also anticipated that the V-6 Duramax Diesel engine will be available.

A peak inside/out!
New technology is among the highlights for the inside of the 2023 Canyon, as well as updates throughout! Buyers have the option of available equipment within including underbody cameras and a head-up display. The Canyon’s interior also boasts a new digital closer which sits behind the steering wheel, cupholders in what is considered a much deeper cubby, as well as a gear shifter moved closer to the passenger side of the cab. The Canyon’s AT4X trim features a larger 11.0-inch display and comes standard with a head-up display and seven-speaker Bose audio system.
Tech aside, the interior of the Canyon comes in a Jet Black cloth, with new available CoreTec interiors in the higher trim levels. Within the AT4X for example, drivers and passengers alike enjoy an athletic interior with heated front seats in Jet Black and Timber accents. Upgrades with this trim also include Obsidian Rush interior with Ceramic White accents or with the Denali, first class comfort is to be had thanks to premium amenities like the new exclusive Jet Black interior and Teak accents.
Outwardly, the Canyon is strikingly handsome — with a strong, assertive style. That is made clear with a high-clearance front fascia with trimmed-out corners, full LED headlamps, daytime running lamps and available fog lamps, with body lines and trims providing a more leveled stance.
Thanks to a large cargo bed, haul all your gear with ease, with its utility including available multi-stow tailgate with drain, available half-gate position for transport of long objects, eight standard tie-downs and an available 120V outlet.

Tech/safety plans!
It is not certain yet what tech the Canyon will be presented with or which trim levels get certain technology, but an 11.3-inch infotainment touchscreen should be standard. These driver-focused screens are customizable, with drivers also receiving three years of the OnStar and Connected Services Premium Plan, which includes connectivity for available in-vehicle apps, remote Access Plan and in-Vehicle WiFi hotspot data.
In addition, the Canyon will come with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities. The Canyon will come available with 10 camera views, including waterproof front and rear underbody cameras, which help provide enhanced visibility under the truck.
GMC presents a wide variety of safety- and driver-assistance features as part of the Pro Safety package for the Canyon. Those safety features include: standard forward-collision warning and automated emergency braking, standard lane-departure warning and lane-keeping assist and available adaptive cruise control.

Towing ability!
The Canyon for 2023 will boast a max towing capacity of 7,700 pounds for Elevation, AT4 and Denali trim levels. That rating will drop to 6,000 pounds for the AT4X and down further to 5,500 for the AT4X when optioned with the Edition 1 package.
