Under hood

The all-new GMC Canyon AT4X for 2023 is readily equipped for anything and everything on the trail, thanks to its power under hood. That is brought forth with a 2.7L Turbo High-Output Engine with 310 horsepower, a best-in-class 430 lb.-ft. of torque and a towing capacity of a whopping 5,500 pounds. This high torque engine is especially optimized for off-roading on uneven terrains and has higher horsepower and torque then the outgoing 3.6L V6 engine.

One huge step further is the first-ever Multimatic DSSV dampers, which power the AT4X and features dynamic spool valves for extended off-road applications. These dampers feature three separate spool valves which are activated when wheel travel moves outside of the normal road operating range.

Off roading at its finest!

Considered the most advanced off-road midsize truck out there, the all-new AT4X is perfect for any off-road adventure. That is thanks to the underbody protection offered, including the truck being equipped with large front heavy-duty skid plating, a larger transfer car shield and rocker protectors. The all-new AT4X comes standard with an off-road chassis package that includes a 2” factory-installed lift and a 3.5” widened track. This will allow for a standard ground clearance of 9.6” and a 33.3-degree approach angle. This truck also boasts 10.7 inches of ground clearance right out for he box, along with a 36.9-degree approach angle, 25.0 degree departure angle and 24.5-degree break over angle.

Tech savvy!

Inside the Canyon AT4X is the most high-tech cockpit in its class! Thanks to a plethora of innovations, this truck’s off-road capabilities have gotten a huge push! To that end, the Canyon offers more camera views than any competitor in its class— up to 10 available views — including Surround Vision and Front/Rear Underbody cameras.

These cameras are sure to provide the best off-road experience, with the front and rear underbody cameras featuring an integrated washing function to deal with mud or water, as well as the front and rear camera able to be viewed with HD Surround Vision, helpful when driving on rocks or gravel.

All of this tech is brought forth with a new class-leading 6.3” diagonal head-up display, a standard 11.3” diagonal infotainment center touchscreen equipped with capability for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as available Google built-in. There’s more! There is also an available fully-digital driver information center, the first ever, adding to the overall enhancement of the adventure no matter the road traveled! The AT4X also is presented with a new Off-Road Performance Display which gives real-time off-roading performance data in a sharp visual format on the center of the infotainment area and instrument cluster.

The look is oh so bold with this all new Canyon, with hardcore off-roading hardware in addition to a striking redesigned grille and headlamps, 17” deadlock-capable wheel and bigger off-road tires. 

Inside, this truck is aimed at performance coupled with exceptional comfort and style all its own, including an exclusive Obsidian Rush interior color combo with Ceramic White accents. Luxury is also found in premium leather-appointed front seats with red stitching and sporty white and red accents throughout.
