2025 GMC Terrain
Rough enough?
This makeover is all-things rugged to say the least, with a full reveal expected sometime this summer! This latest GMC SUV for 2025 has received a makeover worth noting! From new exterior design touches to an off-road capable trim and everything in between, the new generation Terrain is both bold and modern. Starting at $31,000, see what this powerhouse has in store!
Here’s more…
What we know!
Spy photos of this all-new truck reveals a new headlamp design that mimics the larger Yukon SUVs as well as an AT4 badge placed prominently in the grille, a clear indication that an off-road capable trim is for the asking! This new Terrain, like the previous generation model, will share a platform with the also-new Chevrolet Equinox. That means a 175-hp turbocharged 1.5 liter four-cylinder with front- or all-wheel drive is the result.
A partially obscured view of the dashboard unveils a large and impressive infotainment display and a digital gauge cluster. A full reveal is forthcoming, with this Terrain beginning a new generation for the 2025 model year.
Pricing is expected to start at around $31,000 and climb to $41,000, depending on the trim level and options. The SLE trim, which should return as an entry-level model, will be joined by the range-topping Denali variant, we are assuming. In addition and based on a teaser image released by GMC, a rugged AT4 off-road capable trim will be presented.
Top of the line – up close!
The 2025 GMC Terrain Denali is a feast for the eyes, featuring body-colored and chrome accents. At front, its chrome grille with five double horizontal slats are set within what appears to be a black border, according to Spy shots. A focal point is the large red GMC logo, positioned between the first and second of the grille slats. Bookending this prominent grille are a set of headlights featuring GMC’s signature C-shaped Daytime Running Light (DRL) signature, which also serve as the turn signals and hazard indicators.
The design is further carried through with a C-shaped signature that wraps a set of vertically-stacked headlight lenses, the top one of which serves as the low beam and the bottom, the high beam. A boomerang-shaped chrome trim piece begins at the inner edge of the headlight housing and then turns and curves four times before arriving at the fog light housing, which
likely serves as the inlet for the front air curtain. All in all, this serves as a very assertive, rugged appearance as well as speaks to the vehicle’s high-end appeal!
The lower fascia consists of a lower grille with some horizontally-oriented slats and what appears to be a sensor. That can designate either Adaptive Cruise Control or Super Cruise. Located above the bottom grille is a chrome trim piece. The outer edges of the lower fascia are finished in body color, and represent a substantial departure from the high-clearance front bumper seen on the Terrain AT4.
From the side is a profile that reveals the Denali’s general shape and which is a direct match of the Equinox. That also applies to the upward sloping belt line at the rear door, the U-shaped wheel wells and the forward-leaning “shark-fin” style C-pillar treatment, which is similar to the Equinox.
At top, roof rails are finished in chrome and feature black bases, with the door handles and wheel well trim finished in body color. The top-of-the-line Denali has its script present on the front doors, with the mirror caps finished in piano black. A thin trim is at the bottom edge of the doors, while the wheel wells are filled up nicely with dual seven-spoke satin/silver wheels that are either 20 or 21 inches.
At the back, the Denali features a centrally-mounted communications fin, as well as a hatch-mounted spoiler, which houses the Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp. The sides of the rear glass feature vertically-mounted aero curtains finished in piano black. A set of boomerang-shaped taillights with a clear C-shaped graphic bookend the rear. Chrome is found between the body-color bumper cover and body-color lower fascia.
Within the Denali will be features inspired by the 2024 GMC Acadia, including an 11-inch Driver Information Center and a vertically oriented, portrait-style central infotainment display.
In the area of power, under hood all 2025 models are planned to be powered by the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine which is paired with GM’s eight-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle will ride on an updated version of the GM D2 platform, offering both front-wheel and all-wheel drive options.
Production of the third-generation Terrain will occur at the GM San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico beginning this fall.
A full reveal is on the horizon with this latest GMC SUV that is chock full of features and off-road ready! With trim levels appealing to each and every need of today’s driver, this truck is your next best choice! It surely is rough enough!
